A financial controller denied that he had forged a parking card and used it on his car, despite conflicting testimony from his daughter. The 57-year-old Egyptian defendant told the Court of First Instance that he was not guilty of falsifying the card, which was caught by a parking attendant in April. In his testimony to the Public Prosecution, the attendant said he suspected the parking card displayed on the defendant\'s car was altered when he was working at the Dubai Land and Properties Department parking area. The parking card was different from the ones issued by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in some details, which prompted the attendant to call RTA only to find out that the card was not authentic. Article continues below The numbers on the card showed that the original card was issued for another car in the defendant\'s name, and had expired in 2010. The attendant called the police but the defendant did not reply to their questions. Pictures of the fake card taken by police were attached to the report by the RTA parking attendant and the statements taken by Public Prosecution. Presiding judge Fahmi Munir adjourned the case until July 17.
