The Pre-trial Chamber of the Tunis Court of Appeal decided to bring Mahmoud Ballalouna, former Chief Executive Officer of the Residences and National Services Company (Montazah Gammarth), Mohamed Imed Trabelsi and former religious affairs minister Boubaker Lakhzouri to the Criminal Division. A judicial source said on Thursday that these cases regard the use by a public officer of his position to get himself or a third party an unfair advantage causing harm to the administration, in accordance with Article 96 of the Criminal Code. The three defendants appear before the court for their involvement in corruption and mismanagement cases and organisation of pilgrimage and Umrah (minor pilgrimage).
