A limited fire was brought under control at a gas pipeline at Burgan oil field, the Kuwait Oil Company said in a statement released early on Friday. KOC firemen put out the blazes in an hour and quarter time after isolating the damaged pipeline. A staff of the oil company and three contractors suffered some burns and bruises as a result of the accident. They were transported to hospital for treatment, the statement added. Operations of the KOC proceeded regularly, it said. A panel will be set up to investigate circumstances of the accident, according to standing regulations, to determine its causes and avert recurrence of such accidents in the future.
