Minister of Energy Dr. Abdul-Hussain bin Ali Mirza returned last night from the United Arab Emirates after leading the Kingdom of Bahrain\'s delegation to the 24th GCC Electricty and Water Cooperation Committee\'s meeting held in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The Minister emphasized that the meeting was very important in which a number of topics were discussed including electricity grid connection between the GCC countries, exporting electric power beyond the GCC as well as workflow of the technical sub-committees: (i.e. water and electricity specifications, saving, resources and comparative standards committees). Also, the meeting discussed and reviewed (Abu Dhabi Declaration) and nuclear-power generated electricity project and water desalination in addition mutual cooperation between the GCC countries.
