The first day of the Eid al-Adha Muslim festival is expected to take place on Friday, September 1, after Saudi Arabia failed to spot the Dhu al-Hijjah moon on Monday night.
In the Islamic calendar, Eid al-Adha begins on the 10th day of the Dhu al-Hijjah lunar month.
The Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca, which begins two days before Eid al-Adha, is therefore expected to start from Wednesday, August 30.
