An Omani drug dealer has been arrested for selling heroin. 40 year old AMA retrieved heroin that was buried in the sand and sold it to an undercover policeman. The incident took place on May 9 when AMA brokered a deal with a police informer to sell heroin. Policeman Ahmad Mohammed pretended to be a buyer and he went with the informer to meet AMA. They planned to meet at a place in Lehbab area and were followed by police squad. The accused arrived at the location and hopped into Ahmad's car. “He asked us to drive to a road and after driving about one and a half kilo meter he asked us to stop aside. The accused went off the car and lift a small plastic container from the sand and got into the car again,” testified the policeman. After checking the substance in the container, the ‘buyer’ handed Dh9,000 to the accused. “After doing so, the accused expressed readiness for future deals. The police squad that was following them rushed to the scene and arrested the accused along with the money. The Dubai Prosecution accused AMA of possessing 40.35gms of heroine. His urine samples also tested positive to drugs. The case is pending with the Dubai Criminal Court.
