The Preparatory Commission’s meetings continue in preparation for the Syrian opposition Riyadh conference which is set to take place on Wednesday.
The conference will welcome representatives from Riyadh, Moscow and Cairo groups.
One of the participants on the Moscow platform, Firas al-Khaldy, explained that the committee will study and prepare the necessary documents and the final communiqué of the meeting.
The conference aims to unite the opposition under one delegation where, in the event of, a unified document will be issued before heading to the Geneva talks at the end of this month.
Also, the conference seeks to resolve points of disagreement, one of which is the fate of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad – whether he should leave his position at the beginning of the transitional period or remain in office at the time.
According to Khaldy, the second point of disagreement observes the constitution.
Khaldy noted that there are those who want to work with the constitution set by Assad in 2012, and this is what Moscow wants, and there are those want to work with the constitution set in the 50s.
