Saudi ambassador in Cairo Ahmad bin Abdel-Aziz Qattan termed his country and Egypt as "the wings of the Arab nation."
Addressing a ceremony to mark the 86th National Day of Saudi Arabia that was held at the Saudi embassy in Cairo, Amb. Qattan said Cairo and Riyadh shoulder the heavy burden of maintaining security and stability in the region.
He lauded Egyptian-Saudi relations under the leaderships of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz.
"Ties between Egypt and the Kingdom are witnessing significant development in the political and economic fields," he said.
The kingdom spares no efforts to support Arab issues, including the Palestinian cause which is "our top Arab issue," he asserted.
The event was attended by a host of senior officials and top brass of the Egyptian Armed Forces, along with a large number of Arab and foreign ambassadors.
