In a gesture of generosity, the Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, has donated carpets to furnish the Philippines' Manila Golden Mosque and Cultural Centre.
Hamad Saeed Al Zaabi, the UAE’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of the Philippines, on Thursday supervised the laying of the carpets, the final touch in the furnishing process at the mosque and cultural centre.
The donation was in line with the embassy’s diplomatic efforts in the social sphere in the Philippines.
The local Muslim community and the mosque’s administration welcomed the gesture, and said that they hoped the Emirati charitable organisations will continue their humanitarian and charitable efforts to support the Muslim community in the Philippines and other countries.
Worshippers and the mosque’s supervisors also thanked the ERC for its humanitarian initiatives and the UAE’s government and people for providing humanitarian aid across the globe.
