Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum today launched the new vision for the Mohammed bin Rashid Centre for Leadership Development, during a graduation ceremony of a new batch of young executive and government leaders.
The ceremony was attended by H.H Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation; Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, Chairman of the Executive Office of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum; Jameela bint Salem Al Muhairi, Minister of State for Public Education, and several directors-general and many leaders who previously graduated from the centre.
"Today we are witnessing the graduation of a new batch of leaders of our country, and we are proud of what they have learnt and the new leadership skills they have acquired. We are also proud that our Emirati leaders represent a model to be followed, making our country a global centre for creating the leaders of the future," His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid said.
"Officials must, therefore, work hard to create leaders who will shape the future of the region and the UAE, through the Mohammed bin Rashid Centre for Leadership Development, and we must harness all our capacities and ideas to provide direct support to the centre, to create a clear road map for the future leaders of the country. Therefore, I directly supervise and follow the process of creating our future leaders on a regular basis," he added.
"We are investing in building our human resources and creating leaders tops our priorities, as an effective leader is a successful and beneficial investment for future governments, and for developing nations. Therefore, we have relaunched the Mohammed bin Rashid Centre for Leadership Development as a starting point to creating leading minds who can lead and shape the future. The centre is creating a new generation of leaders of our country, complying with the vision of the UAE centenary in 2017," His Highness Sheikh Mohammed further added.
The new vision reflects the UAE’s culture and vision of creating and shaping the future, as well as promoting the human dimension in developing innovative leaders, who are capable of facing future industrial challenges.
It will also adopt international standards in training leaders and enhance their skills and their local and international experiences. It will also develop newly applied methods of implementing programmes and plans.
The centre will develop future leaders who are entrepreneurs, innovators and leaders in all areas, who can harness their full potential to build a smart and sustainable city and a major hub of the global economy.
The centre has seen the graduation of over 600 leaders in many sectors, who are now in charge of major national projects.
The Mohammed bin Rashid Centre for Leadership Development conducts specialised programmes to develop Emirati leaders in the public and private sectors on leadership, administrative and technical levels.
