The United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) will open a regional office in Bahrain as a gateway to cover the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. ‘The planned regional office will be the second of its kind as the first was opened in Seoul, South Korea", said Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution (BCDR-AAA) Chief Executive Officer Professor Nassib G. Ziadé. He made the statement on the sidelines of the 4th International Conference for a Euro-Mediterranean Community of International Arbitration, which opened this morning in Bahrain.
The Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution (BCDR-AAA) is organising the event in cooperation with the UN) Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development and under the patronage of the Foreign Ministry and the Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Ministry. Addressing the opening session, BCDR-AAA chairperson Shaikh Haya bint Rashid Al-Khalifa stressed the importance of the conference which aims at setting up a unified legal framework for trade dispute settlement.
