The Zayed Giving Initiative (ZGI) organised the Zayed Youth Forum for Humanitarian Work in Egypt on Friday, as part of its efforts to promote the culture of giving and charitable work, as well as empower and train young generations to provide humanitarian services.
The participants in the forum spoke about ZGI's humanitarian programmes to reach out to millions of underprivileged across the world, the fundamentals of humanitarian work, voluntary work and the management of voluntary projects. The pioneers of humanitarian and youth works were honoured in recognition of their contribution to the humanitarian work in Egypt and beyond.
Dr. Adel Al Shamri, CEO of ZGI, said the ZGI was committed to holding such gatherings in many countries to instil the values of humanitarian and voluntary work among the youth, and promote public-private partnership to adopt and support humanitarian programmes inspired by the youth.
On the second day of the forum, Emirati-Egyptian medical volunteers treated 2,000 children and elderly people in the Sharqia Governorate.
The medical teams provided healthcare services to detect chronic and cardiovascular diseases, high blood pressure, diabetes and others.
