Egyptian actor and writer Ahmed Fahmi has told Arabstoday that Islamists have “distorted the image of Islam abroad.” Fahmi lamented that “foreigners have received a bad impression of Islam.” He revealed that he was voting against the draft constitution in the second stage of the referendum, adding that he believes the Muslim Brotherhood has divided Egyptians. Fahmi is set to take on his first presenting job with Arab Idol. His latest film Shot Dead is now in cinemas, in which he stars alongside Iyad Nassar, Durra and Horeya Farghali. The psychological mystery was written by Amr Salama and directed by Karim El-Adl.
