Syrian Author Mohanad al-Akos became one of the world famous writers of children literature, and won many local and Arab awards. He started his career in the visual media through his songs on Baraem channel.
Al Akos said in an interview with Arabs Today that the Children Literature contributed to the education process, noting that he was writing stories which have educational goals involved in lessons. He used the children literature as an educational tool, prompting the children to like information.
He continued that he was using the stories in treatment, explaining that he read about many children's bad behaviors at the psychological counseling room, so he wrote model stories aiming to modify any bad behavior of the children.
Al Akos said that the developed countries do not separate children literature from the school curriculum, referring to the experiences of learning through playing, noting that we hope to transfer this experience to our countries.
Al Akos shows that some calls to simplify the language and the idea, but he does not support this call, noting that the child get attracted by the beautiful words that enrich the language.
He spoke about his experience in Baraem channel, where he started with Nam el-kamr (the moon slept) program, which was broadcasted in the evening.
He pointed out that he is currently working on the preparation of some television programs, and he continues to write stories, plays, novels, poetry and scripts. He concluded that he aims to set a distinctive Arabic idol for children and compete with the world writers of children literature.
