The developments in the Arab region will cast shadow on the upcoming 42nd General Assembly for Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA) to be held in Bahrain on November 24-25, Chairman of the Board and Director General of Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) Sheikh Mubarak Al-Duaij Al-Ibrahim Al-Sabah said here Saturday.
Sheikh Mubarak told KUNA that the current situation that the Arab world is going through required from media outlets in the region to be up to the challenge, noting that the media should focus on delivering an accurate and honest portrayal of what is occurring in the Middle East.
On FANA, the KUNA Director lauded the role played by FANA in reinforcing cooperation among Arab news agencies, noting that holding regular meetings for the federation was a must for further developing Arab media.
Sheikh Ibrahim Al-Duaij, also FANA's Deputy Chairman, will head to Bahrain tomorrow (Sunday) to partake in the FANA meeting. KUNA will be holding the 43rd General Assembly next year. The agency is currently chair of FANA.
