Egyptian Radio and Television Union (ERTU) Chairman Essam el Amir said he will file a complain against the MBC group over mocking the state-owned TV during a show that was aired by MBC Masr on Friday.
The show Asaad Allah Masa'kom "Wish you good evening" has crossed the lines by citing obscenities and holding up the state TV an object of ridicule, Amir said on Saturday.
Amir asked the Saudi-owned satellite group to apologize saying he will demand decisive action against MBC Masr, one of 12 other channels owned by the group and directs its content to the Egyptian people.
He pointed out that the attack on the State-TV is unjustifiable and raises many questions.
The ERTU is committed to formal procedures to carry out its mission and distances itself from any private calculations, Amir added.
