Kuwaiti Oil Minister and Minister of State for National Assembly Affairs Dr. Ali Al-Omair said here on Tuesday that the GCC leaders on their 35th summit discussed a number of economic matters, particularly the decline in oil prices.
Al-Omair said in a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) following the conclusion of the summit tonight that the GCC countries are linked in a common destiny and that their economies are fundamentally dependent on the oil sector, referring to the keenness paid by the GCC leaders to this vital sector as a large tributary to these countries.
He congratulated His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on the success of his quest and his fruitful efforts for the convening of this summit, besides what was seen of conciliation and consensus among the participants.
He also congratulated the State of Qatar for the success of this summit and its important decisions, wishing those decisions would be completed and enter into force on the ground soon.
