Canada will allocate some 45 million dollars to support a number of projects in Egypt, announced the Canadian Ambassador to Egypt Troy Lulashnyk.
The projects include funding a program to raise the efficiency of the security apparatus in Egypt, he said, adding that 15 million dollars will be earmarked to carry out a project to empower woman.
He further said that 10 million dollars will be offered for a program on school nutrition.
Another 10 million dollars will be allocated to the field of vocational training, which will start first in Aswan governorate, he noted.
During his meeting with the Canadian Chamber of Commerce on Monday, the ambassador said that Canada will continue to offer financial and technical aid to all the Egyptian projects, with a special focus on sustainable development.
The volume of trade between Egypt and Canada hit 1 billion dollars during 2013, he noted, expecting an increase in trade between the two countries within the upcoming period.
The upcoming period will witness a fruitful cooperation between the two countries in the various spheres, especially energy and tourism, he added.
