The government is keen on achieving comprehensive development in Sinai, including the agricultural field, Agriculture Minister Salah Hilal said on Sunday.
The's remarks came during a meeting with a raft of Sinai elders and chieftains to discuss the demands of Sinai farmers and the agricultural development problems there.
A 10-member committee was formed to make a list of all plots of land that were seized illegally nationwide to confiscate them, the minister added.
Also, the minister said he ordered the General Authority for Rehabilitation Projects and Agricultural Development (GARPAD) to remove all obstacles facing Sinai residents.
During the gathering, the Sinai elders called for taking more strict measures to reduce encroachment on state-owned spaces, cancel public auction for those lands, provide suitable space for those who unable to buy a plot of land as well as offering job openings to Sinai young men.
