The third donors' conference, to be held in Kuwait on March 31st, will play a big role in aiding Syrians suffering from the ongoing crisis in their country, said Kuwaiti Ambassador to Qatar Mutab Al-Mutawtah.
The event is part of Kuwait's continuous efforts to aid refugee and displaced Syrians, the Ambassador told KUNA on Tuesday.
Kuwait is among the top countries supporting the Syria refugees, he said, adding that his country had donated USD 800 million worth of aid material to the UN organizations.
The number of pledges in the first conference held in Kuwait on January 2013 totaled USD 1.5 billion, with Kuwait donating USD 300 million.
The second conference in 2014, collected USD 2.4 billion, with USD 500 million presented by Kuwait.
There are currently about 12.2 displaced and refugee Syrians living in dire conditions since the outbreak of the war in Syria on March 15, 2011.
