The number of operating companies in Shoubra-Banha axis was increased to seven instead of one company in order to inaugurate it next year to solve the traffic congestion on Cairo-Alexandria agriculture road, said Qalyubia Governor Mohamed Abdel Zaher.
The new corridor will cost about 2.5 billion pounds and will link the ring road with Cairo-Alexandria road, added the governor.
Work at the new corridor was suspended for five years due to expropriation process, he noted.
The new corridor is considered one of the national mega projects in the governorate and will serve all Upper Egypt governorates, he said.
