Minister of Communications and Information Technology Khaled Negm refuted on Wednesday rumors on dividing Telecom Egypt, terming it as the most prestigious company in the Middle East and Africa thanks to its possession of grand potentials and high-qualified cadres.
The minister's remarks were made during his meeting with Telecom Egypt staff.
He also denied claims that the company have suffered losses due to a reduction in the internet prices, noting that new price lists would allow the company to provide services for new categories of users.
The minister also asserted that the ministry is mulling, in cooperation with the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA), obtaining the license of operating 4G or the fourth generation of mobile telecommunications technology.
