An important sign showing the priority the US is giving to developing the Egyptian economy is making US State Secretary John Kerry lead the US delegation to Egypt Economic Development Conference (EEDC) in Sharm El Sheikh, Vice President for Research and Policy at the Middle East Institute in Washington Paul Salem said.
A strategic dialogue session is expected to be held later between Kerry and his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukry under the agreement the two countries’ presidents had forged in September, Salem said.
The dialogue will address means of rebuilding strategic relations between Washington and Cairo with the US focusing on terror combat and achieving regional stability, he said.
