The Israeli Hebrew-speaking Haaretz newspaper said on Wednesday that Israel is carrying out projects for linking Al Quds (occupied East Jerusalem) with the settlement of Maale Adumim in the West Bank, around 7 km away from the holy city.
The newspaper, in a report, indicated that voting on annexing the settlement to the city has been postponed for several times in the Knesset. But there are efforts for carrying out projects with a view to linking the settlement with the city, according to the paper.
The Israeli government, however, is worried about the reaction of the international community over the move, added the paper.
