The political activists, Taraji Mustafa, who took part in the National Dialogue, has described the recent split within the rebel Sudan people's liberation Movement-Northern Sector, as "serious " fragmentation, referring to lack of institutionalism, respect of law and regulations within the ranks and files of the Movement.
In a statement to the Sudan News Agency SUNA Ms. Mustafa was of the view that the SPLA-N as it stands now could not be trusted as a genuine partners as the movement is confused over the choice of its representatives to the peace negotiations and the split would weaken further the rebel movement, stressing that the African Union High Level Implementation Panel has to reconsider this situation seriously.
She was also of the view that the Secretary General of the Movement Yassir Arman, always tends to choose the poor and obedient elements, a matter that led to the spread of bad feeling among the members of the movement
She said Yasser Arman and Malik Agar have always belittled all decision adoptwed by the Nuba Liberation council, which , she said, they fail to recognize as the body representing the Nuba and thus in position to take such decisions.
She said only recently the Council has decided to reject Arman as their spokesman and representative in the talks, and that they are in solidarity with their people in the Nuba mountains area and thata they wanted real leadership that represent them and their people on the ground. She predicted that such a position would have serious repercussions on the negotiating team.
She stressed that Sudanese people know the size and impact of the SPLA-N and that the people of Sudan could not be fooled as was the case with the International Delegations who are not aware of the details of the areas.
She stressed the talks should be conducted with those who carry arms so that a genuine and true peace be achieved with those who listen to the voice of wisdom and who seek to close the national ranks.
