The United Nations Security Council condemned Sunday "in the strongest terms" a truck-ramming attack in Jerusalem, saying any acts of terrorism are criminal and unjustifiable.
The attack in Armon Hanatziv, a popular promenade overlooks East Jerusalem's Old City, killed four Israelis and injured another 15 people.
The security council reaffirmed in a press statement that "terrorism in all its forms and manifestations constitutes one of the most serious threats to international peace and security."
The 15-member UN body urged that those responsible for "this reprehensible act of terrorism" be held accountable.
Israel's Channel 2 TV news broadcast security camera footage showing the truck driving at high speed off the road and plowing into the crowd.
The truck was seen reversing quickly, apparently attempting to drive over more people, before the driver was shot dead by soldiers.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the perpetrator of the attack was an apparent adherent of the Islamic State.
An ongoing wave of violence in the West Bank and Israel has claimed the lives of at least 235 Palestinians and 34 Israelis since September 2015.
