Former Zamalek’s Coach Mohamed Helmy refused to respond to Shikabala’s accusation, expressing his frustration over the statements issued by the players against him. He said that such statements shocked him.
He added, in a statement to “Arabs Today”, that he did not expect such reactions from the players, saying that it was shocking to receive these reactions from the players after his departure. The statements came after the attack of both Shikabala and Ibrahim Salah against Zamalek’s coach, as they stressed that the former coach should bear the responsibility of the consecutive defeats that hit the team.
He called the players for exerting their efforts during the coming matches to return to the competition. He stressed that the team will face difficult matches during the coming period, stressing the need for winning all the coming matches regardless of the current crises and problems witnessed in the team.
He stressed that he does not prefer to respond to the players even if they promote lies against him, calling the team’s fans for supporting the team during the current critical period. He added, “We have the best players in the Egyptian league. We can compete to win the tournaments. I am proud of winning Egypt’s Super Cup under my management. I aspire for better future for the team.”
