Trabelsi is leaving after 2 years as manager Tunis - Arabstoday The Tunisian Football Federation has confirmed it has accepted the resignation of coach Sami Trabelsi, following Tunisia's failure to get past the first round at the African Cup of Nations in South Africa. In a statement, the Federation said that 45-year old Trabelsi requested that his contract is ended prematurely. Tunisian football's governing body has identified three potential successors, with the interview process formally underway. The trio are believed to be Nabil Maaloul, who led Esperance to the African Champions League title in 2011, Khaled Ben Yahia and Maher Kenzari. Tunisia finished third in Group D, which also featured Tunisia, Togo and Algeria. In last year's African Cup, Trabelsi led the side into the quarter-finals before defeat against Ghana. Trabelsi was appointed Tunisia coach in March 2011.
