Two Turkish soldiers were killed in southeastern Sirnak province on Sunday, according to a Turkish security source.
The soldiers had been injured during a counter-terrorism operation against the PKK group early Sunday when an operation led by the gendarmerie command was taking place in Sirnak's Bestler-Dereler region in Uludere district, the source added.
Counter-terrorism operations against the PKK organization remain ongoing in the area.
More than 1,200 people, including security force personnel and civilians, have lost their lives since the PKK resumed its decades-old armed campaign in July 2015.
