Seven people died and 30 others were seriously injured when a truck they were traveling in overturned in northern Zambia's Kasama district, police said Monday.
Police spokesperson Esther Mwaata-Katongo said the accident on Sunday afternoon involved a truck carrying members of a singing group from a local church.
She said the truck overturned after the driver failed to negotiate a curve and lost control, killing six people on the spot while another died at a local hospital.
She identified the dead as all females while the driver had been arrested for causing death by dangerous driving.
