At least nine people have been killed during the strong storm over the weekend in Haiti, officials said Monday.
At least eight people were killed after the boat carrying them capsized in rough waters in the early hours of Sunday as it sailed en route from the city of Bombardopolis to the city of Gonaives, according to the country's maritime service.
The total number of passengers aboard the boat remains unknown.
Meanwhile, in the country's central department of Centre, a man was swept away and dead due to rising waters in the weekend.
