A Miami man charged with sexual assault and child pornography is now being investigated in the death of his mistress as well, authorities say. Randy Pozdol, 66, was arrested in January 2009 when detectives found videos in his home showing a man, believed to be him, sexually assaulting a woman and her two young children, all of them unconscious or drugged, The Miami Herald reports. The investigation eventually identified the woman as Pozdol's mistress, a 43-year-old Dania Beach woman whose death in 2006 was initially declared an accidental drug overdose. As Pozdol sits jailed with no trial dates set on sexual battery and child pornography charges, Broward County sheriff's deputies say they are revisiting the death to determine whether he gave his mistress a lethal dose of the morphine and antidepressant found in her body. "My understanding is that, unfortunately, the woman was an addict. My client had nothing to with that," defense attorney Edward O'Donnell said. "Numerous" lewd photos of minors were found on Pozdol's hard drive, the 2009 arrest affidavit states. He is married and has an adult son. Court documents state one of the mistress' children identified himself on the sex video.
