Forbidden kiss lands lovers in jail

A simple kiss and hug proved costly for a housewife and her lover after the housemaid spotted them cuddling in the woman\'s house and reported the incident to her husband. The two have each been sentenced to a year\'s imprisonment. The 32-year-old Indian husband reported the matter to the police following which the Dubai Misdemeanour Court yesterday convicted the 24-year-old Pakistani woman, S.T., and her 27-year-old Pakistani lover, A.S., of hugging and kissing. The two will be deported after completing their jail terms. The husband told prosecutors, \"When I confronted my wife, she confessed to me … she sent me a text message on my mobile phone in which she apologised and claimed that she felt guilty.\" The husband and wife divorced following this incident. The court ordered the defendants to pay Dh21,000 in temporary compensation to the husband. In his statement before the court, A.S. denied hugging and kissing S.T., who remains at large according to records. From / Gulf News
