A suspected militant was killed in a blast during a house raid in Bangladesh's Mymensingh district, some 122 km north of capital Dhaka, on Sunday night, a local police official said.
Senior Mymensingh Police official Noor-e-Alam told journalists that they suspect militants were using the house to make bombs.
"Law enforcers found the alleged militant's body lying in a pool of blood in the tin-roofed house which was kept under cordon since Sunday afternoon," he said.
"We're yet to enter the house, suspecting that there are more bombs in it."
He said a bomb disposal team from capital Dhaka is on its way to Mymensingh.
The militant's wife and son were rescued unhurt from there.
No further details were immediately available, he added.
