The bodies of 10 people have been recovered in an Amazon tributary in northern Brazil after the ship they were on sank in the river, authorities said Wednesday.
Another 35 people are still missing, according to news reports quoting authorities in the state of Para.
Deutsche Presse-Agentur, DPA, quoted the news portal G1 as saying, "Another 25 people survived the sinking by swimming to shore after the ship went down in the Xingu River while en route from Santarem to Vitoria de Xingu."
"The ship with approximately 70 people on board went down overnight. The cause of the sinking was unknown," added DPA.
