The Gaza energy authority denied that power outage hours will be reduced to four only daily in the Palestinian enclave, regretting that the power crisis is still in place. Since the start of the month, electricity blackouts have been taking place on a daily basis from six hours to sometimes 12 hours continuously due to a fuel crisis and new taxes imposed by the West Bank government on fuel needed to operate the only power station in Gaza. Contacts are being made to resolve the power crisis in Gaza, said deputy chairman of the power authority Fathy Khalil. No progress has been realised regarding the crisis, Khalil said, adding he hopes the coming days will bring brighter news especially with the advent of the winter. Source: MENA
