HADID, a global leader in flight support services, today announced the upcoming launch of its new flight planning application. The much-anticipated will be unveiled during the 2016 European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (EBACE), which will be held in Geneva, Switzerland from 24 to 26 May 2016.
HADID sources confirm that the development of this new app was prompted by customer requests for even greater communications capabilities and a stronger emphasis on real-time information. The end result of the development team’s efforts is an app that can provide flexible airspace routes in a way that reduces both time and cost, with route information continually updated from reliable sources like Lufthansa.
According to Brian Culver, HADID Chief Executive Officer, the app’s target audience includes all fixed-wing aircraft operators, many of whom have long expressed a need for a more flexible flight support option that meets their fast-paced lives. As Culver noted,
“Captains are on the go using mobile equipment such as smart phones, and they need to download routes and flight plans at a fast pace - especially when urgent route changes are taking place. This app will enable the captains of corporate jets to have easy access to flight plan changes, and rapidly implement them. That can reduce operational costs, and reduce the number of support staff needed for the route change process.”
The new HADID application is the end result of a year’s worth of development, and both internal and external testing to ensure real-world effectiveness. The decision to formalize the product’s final launch was made only after those tests demonstrated the app’s accuracy, reliability, and affordability for the end user.
“We have never had any issues or complaints from pilots regarding our route planning, so we are extremely enthusiastic about this new venture,” said Culver. “We’ve gone to great lengths to ensure that this service is of a very high proven quality. Fully 30 to 40% of the routing is tested by an internal system within HADID and stored in a web based portal before we provide it to our pilot customers. And since we rely on real-time routing information from many of the world’s most reliable sources, our customers receive the most accurate information available at any given moment in time.”
The app will be available on the company’s website upon launch, with an initial focus on iOS users. Support for Microsoft and Android users is expected to follow soon, as development is currently underway.
In addition to its efforts to ready the app for other mobile users, HADID’s development team remains committed to ongoing development of new mobile applications to better serve the aviation industry. Market research, planning, and development efforts continue apace as HADID works to ensure that its clients are provided with the most effective and cutting-edge technological solutions for their flight support needs.
