The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation (MBRF) announced yesterday the launch of "The Knowledge Page" initiative, in partnership with Al Bayan newspaper, to showcase articles and opinion pieces on culture as well as best practices in science by some of the most famous Arab and international writers.
During a press conference at the Dubai Press Club, a partnership agreement was signed between Jamal bin Huwaireb, Managing Director of MBRF, and Dhaen Shaheen, CEO of the publishing sector at Dubai Media Incorporated, under which "The Knowledge Page" will be included in the newspaper for five days a week – from Sunday to Thursday.
Commenting on the launch of "The Knowledge Page", Jamal bin Huwaireb said, "This initiative once again confirms the sustained efforts of MBRF towards developing a knowledge-based society. The page will help shed light on how best to employ knowledge activities to achieve efficiency in all areas of the economy, civil society and even personal lives of individuals. The strength of the knowledge based society is determined by the extent of efforts to disseminate knowledge and use it as an economic resource that will help community members to exercise their rights and responsibilities in the best possible manner. "The Knowledge Page" will contribute towards improving the cultural and knowledge inventory of individuals as well as institutions in order to ensure sustainable human development." On the occasion, Dhaen Shaheen said, "Today, Al Bayan finds in the partnership with MBRF a window of opportunity to create in its readers more interest for knowledge. Through "The Knowledge Page", the paper will attract wider reader attention and offer a comprehensive view of knowledge that includes the world of science, cultures and all that matters to today's readers." "The Knowledge Page" initiative is the latest in a series of initiatives and programmes launched by MBRF as part of its efforts to build knowledge-based societies and economies by enriching communities with cultural thoughts and strengthening the position of Arabic language in the minds of future generations. Through such initiatives, the Foundation aims to develop a generation a creative minds capable of taking the nation forward to global standards of development.
