Abdul Mohsen Salama, manager of Ahram newspaper, said that he did not make his final decision in regard with running the mid-term elections of the Egyptian Press Syndicate, noting that he is still studying the issue.
He said that hundreds of journalists headed by Makram Mohamed Ahmed, former head of the syndicate, have asked him to run for the next election.
With regard to Diaa Rashwan's official announcement of running the mid-term elections, Salama told Arabs Today that "it is his own decision and the right of any member of the syndicate to run for any position."
Salama sent his appreciation through Arabs Today to all the journalists who flocked to his office, especially Makram Mohamed Ahmed, to convince him to run for the next elections.
With regard to the launch of several Facebook pages demanding Salama to run the elections, he said that he did not launch these pages, asserting that some reporters interested in his candidacy have created them.
