A private island has been put up for sale off
When you\'re looking for a holiday home in the sun, location is of the utmost importance. So perhaps it is no surprise that this luxury property, on its own island just a quarter of a mile from the city of Marathon
in the Florida Keys, is going for top dollar.
Private East Sister Rock Island, which sits on a coral reef and is home to a 2,500 square foot house, complete with panoramic views, a veranda, helicopter landing pad and space to moor a boat, is on the market for a wallet-emptying $12million.
The expansive property boasts three bedrooms and two bathrooms and it can easily sleep nine people.
However should you find it a bit lonely out there on the multi-million dollar island in the Atlantic Ocean, it takes just three-minutes by boat to reach the mainland.
The city of Marathon has plenty of opportunities for designer shopping and fine dining. The Keys are renowned for their golf courses and the area is jam-packed with galleries, spas and wildlife tours for wealthy visitors.
The island paradise is ideal for anyone keen to try out snorkelling and scuba diving and the fishing in the Gulf area is world class.
Marvin Arrieta, the realtor who is handling the sale of the property for Century 21 Premier Elite Realty, told MailOnline: \'The property was built in 1980 and normally rents for around $5,000 per week.
\'Robert and Elena Williford bought the island in 1995 to enjoy with their four children. Now that their family have grown up, they are spending less time there and have decided to sell.
\'The property has only been on the market for ten days but has already caused a great deal of interest.\'
