Minister of National Education Nouria Belghebrit dubbed "encouraging" the results of Baccalaureate 2015, in spite of the "strikes" which had marked the school year.

In a statement to APS after the official announcement of the baccalaureate 2015 success rate, which reached 51.36%, Benghebrit said these results are "acceptable despite the strikes that have negatively affected the performance of students."

Some 363,140 students have succeeds their examination out of the 853,909 candidates. Tizi Ouzou tops the list with a rate of 80.67%.

Benghebrit recalled the efforts made to improve the student’s educational performance, notably who have year-end examinations, by offering an educational solution to address the impact of the strikes and speed up the implementation of school programs.

Evaluating the success rate, the minister said that "the rate could have been better in accordance with the objectives of the national education framework law issued in 2008," adding that her department and the sector players will pursue efforts to achieving a success rate of over 70% in the coming years.
