Education Minister Mahmoud Abul Nasr said that his ministry saves no effort to offer funding needed for developing pre-university education.
The minister's remark came during a symposium held at the Middle East News Agency (MENA) headquarters on Monday, organized by MENA Board Chairman and Editor-in-Chief Alaa Hadier.
"ًWe need funding to establish about 10,000 schools which require 56 billion pounds," Abul Nasr said.
The minister underlined also that the ministry needs 100 billion pounds to develop education, adding that the ministry requires new sources as 90 percent of the budget goes to salaries.
Abul Nasr noted that the education ministry in cooperation with the Interior and Defense ministries has managed to defuse 45 bombs that targeted students since the beginning of the new school year.
