Ready-to-wear collection unveiled in Paris Paris - Arabstoday During the unveiling of his Autumn/Winter ready-to-wear collection in Paris on Saturday, Jean Paul Gaultier opted to move away from his signature style in favour of a more serious approach. Luxe and modern, with tribal hints - the models appeared in layered leather and punk-scruffy hair and by the end of the show wandered into punk rock territory with sequin patch skirts. Being a Gaultier show, it was inevitable that cone-shaped bust would pop up (and they did) as well as shapely peplum jackets. Another theme for the collection is fur- it was everywhere – on trenches, robes, on stoles as well as long flowing skirts in black and red. Despite having a more austere tone, Gaultier’s latest collection still has something fierce, edgy and bohemian to provide.
