The Egyptian embassy in Nouakchott held a celebration marking the anniversary of July 23 Revolution.
Mauritanian Foreign Minister Fatma Vall Mint Soueinae attended the celebration along with Arab and foreign ambassadors, representatives from international organizations and Mauritanian intellectuals.
Mauritanian media was keen to highlight the event.
During the celebration, Egyptian Ambassador Ahmed Fadel Yaqoub hailed the depth of Egyptian-Mauritanian relations, especially Mauritanian role to reinstate Egypt in the African Union.
He added that Egypt is looking forward to a visit of the Mauritanian president to Egypt during the inauguration of the New Suez Canal on August 6.
