Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit condemned Wednesday's terror attack in London.
A knife-wielding man went on a deadly rampage in the heart of Britain's seat of power Wednesday, plowing a car into pedestrians on London's Westminster Bridge before stabbing a police officer to death inside the gates of Parliament. Five people were killed, including the assailant, and 40 others were injured.
In a press release on Thursday, Abul Gheit deplored the horrendous criminal act which violated all humanitarian and ethical principles, offering condolences to the British government and people.
The AL chief spokesman, Mahmoud Afifi, said the attack brings to limelight again the gravity of terror which threatens security and stability worldwide.
Afifi called for rallying international efforts in the face of such phenomenon.
