The Arab League (AL) warned Monday Israel not to exploit the current Syrian crisis to occupy the Arab and Syrian Golan Heights.
In a statement issued on Monday, the AL stressed that Golan is Arab, noting that Netanyahu's statements aim at rendering the efforts to hold the international peace conference between the Palestinians and the Israelis a failure.
The AL underscored that the comprehensive and fair peace in the region will not be achieved except by halting the Israeli occupation to all the Palestinian and Arab territories including Golan as well as establishing an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with east of Jerusalem as its capital.
It described the statements of the Israeli premier as an escalation and a flagrant violation to the international laws and conventions such as the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolution and Geneva agreements.
Netanyahu said on Sunday during a cabinet meeting that Israel will never withdraw from the Golan Heights.
