The bodies of Boutroseya Church attack martyrs arrived Monday at the Unknown Soldier Memorial in Cairo's district of Nasr City, ahead of the anticipated state funeral.
Besides the ambulances carrying the martyrs' bodies, Armed Forces trucks with families of martyrs on board, bishops along with priests arrived at the memorial to take part in the funeral.
Meanwhile, dozens of Muslim and Christian citizens flocked to the vicinity of the funeral chanting anti-terror slogans and calling for swift retribution.
Earlier in the day, Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of Saint Mark Diocese led funeral prayers for the martyrs.
On Sunday, 25 people dead and 49 others injured when a bomb went off inside El Boutroseya Church adjacent St. Peter & St. Paul Coptic Orthodox Church in Cairo’s Abbassiya district.
