Egypt strongly condemned on Monday the terrorist attack by Boko Haram militant group against Dalori village and two nearby camps housing 25,000 refugees in northeastern Nigeria that left 86 persons dead and 62 others wounded.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid expressed Egypt's heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, wishing a speedy recovery to all wounded.
He expressed Egypt's support of the Nigerian people and government in the face of terrorism, calling for rallying international efforts to uproot terrorism and its financing sources.
Gunmen riding motorcycles raided the Nigerian village and nearby camps, indiscriminately opening fire at locals, detonating bombs and torching homes.
As people fled toward to a nearby village, three women in suicide vests tried to make their way into a crowd. They were intercepted and subsequently got blown up.
