France has strongly condemned Sunday's terrorist attack in Cairo's suburb of Helwan which killed eight policemen.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Roman Nadal offered in a statement Monday condolences to the families of the victims and expressed solidarity with Egypt to combat terrorism.
Eight policemen were shot dead by masked gunmen in Helwan early on Sunday.
The victims were traveling in a white mini-bus when gunmen dismounted from a pick-up truck, stopped the unmarked police vehicle and opened fire.
The policemen, who were in plain clothes, were on their way to take part in the arrest of some criminals.
