King Mohammed VI
Rabat - Muslimchronicle

King Mohammed VI has sent a message of condolences to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi following the tragic terrorist attack at the Al Rawda mosque in Egypt’s North Sinai on Friday.

In his message, the monarch expressed to el-Sisi, in his name on behalf of the Moroccan people, strong condemnation of this cowardly criminal act, which he said targeted Muslims in “flagrant violation” of the sacredness of places of worship.

The King also expressed his full solidarity with the brotherly Egyptian people in this difficult time, as well as the “constant adherence” of Morocco to international efforts to combat all forms of odious terrorist, “which is contrary to the precepts of the Islamic religion and Universal human values,” reported Maghreb Arab Press (MAP).

The sovereign extended to President Al-Sisi, to the grieving families, and Egyptian people, his heartfelt condolences and sincere feelings of compassion.

The King also asked God to give patience and comfort to the victims’ relatives and swift recovery to the wounded.

Masked terrorists attacked Al Rawda mosque in Egypt’s North Sinai on Friday. Two-hundred thirty-five people were killed and 130 were injured, according to Egyptian media.

One of the group detonated a suicide bomb and then the rest opened fire on attendents during the Friday prayer on people, some of whom were Egyptian army conscripts.

Following the incident, el-Sisi said that the police will achieve vengeance for those who were killed.
